Visit the Wirral Transport Museum to soak in the sights and sounds of the past, where volunteers from the Merseyside Tramway Preservation Society restore and conserve historical transportation for the enjoyment of both the present and the future.
Ride one of their electric vintage trams to travel back in time and relive the glory days of transportation. See the excitement on your children’s faces as they gaze in awe at the small world of the model railroad as you travel through the amazing collection of trams, buses, vehicles, motorbikes, and cycles while you peruse the extensive collection of transport and other intriguing artefacts.
There is so much to see and so much to do at Wirral Transport Museum, and now, with Wirral Borough Council’s assistance, there is even more. A significant renovation program was completed in the spring of 2018, including much better amenities like a new separate foyer and entrance, a tea room, a sales kiosk (made from two former Victorian Mersey Ferry booths), a suite of restrooms, including ones for those with mobility or other physical issues, a lift to the second level, leading to a new Viewing Gallery and new or improved displays.
There is truly something for everyone, and we can guarantee that you will be impressed by the warm welcome of the friendly volunteers than work hard to make The Wirral Transport Museum and Heritage Tramway an unforgettable day out for all the family.
